Fire Sprinkler Project Manager

Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to deliver each project on or under budget by controlling costs and forecasting revenue and costs for the project's duration. The Project Manager will coordinate and manage a portfolio of multiple concurrent construction projects of varying sizes. Responsibilities include attending contractors' project meetings and maintaining accurate records of meetings, schedules, and requests. Excellent communication skills are required for interaction with the sales staff to confirm labor estimates on new and retrofit projects. The role involves managing the change order process from inception to completion, proactively identifying and solving problems, and working inter-departmentally with Sales, Superintendents, Foremen, and Service staff. Compliance with project closeout requirements, AHJ approvals, customer training, and documentation is essential. Key Responsibilities

- Assist in proposal activities, attend pre-bid meetings, select subcontractors, maintain project documentation, and manage materials purchases.
- Manage projects, change orders, man-loading charts, weekly progress reports, material and equipment delivery dates, completion dates, and other elements to control the project in accordance with the approved budget.
- Manage rental equipment delivery and pickup schedules to minimize costs.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Maintain a set of report and working drawings, consulting with local building codes and AHJs.
- Act as the primary interface for owners/customers.
- Conduct/attend construction meetings, maintain the safety program, manage scheduling and change orders, and complete project close-out documentation.
- Perform other duties as business needs dictate and as required.
- Coordinate and work with field management to manage resources to meet construction schedules and budgets.
- Attend weekly meetings with operations and finance to provide updates on the percentage of completion and cost to complete.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager.
- 2-5 years of project management experience, with industry-specific capability in Fire Alarms.
- Sound and practical understanding of construction and project management with the ability to schedule and monitor tasks.
- NICET II certification or higher preferred.
- Good organization and time management skills, ensuring all tasks, action items, and QA items are followed through, completed, and documented in a timely manner.
- Strong budget and cost control management skills.
- Prior experience with JD Edwards preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and/or independently.
- Experience in conflict/dispute resolution.
- Ability to assess construction and service client requirements for various contracts and construction phases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating & scheduling software.
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working above ceiling spaces, crawl spaces, climbing ladders, high lift equipment, etc.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to obtain required clearances for jobs, including background check and drug screen.
