Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed unit consisting of 22 stepdown beds and 10 floor beds, serving cardiology, heart failure, cardiac surgery, and med-surg patient populations
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 on the stepdown side and 1:5 or 1:6 on the floor side
• Titrate drips including heparin, insulin, nitroglycerin, Cardizem, nicardipine, Lasix, amiodarone, and dobutamine
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips as needed; unit utilizes Philips monitoring with dedicated tele techs
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment including nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC, and trach-to-vent setups in coordination with dedicated respiratory therapy staff
• Participate in float rotation to floor assignments as needed; travelers are first to be pulled when staffing requires

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license (any license hits must be disclosed at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Ability to meet weekend requirements: 3–4 weekend days (Saturday and Sunday), 2 Fridays, and 2 Mondays per 4-week scheduling period for night shift; weekend night shift requires every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior cardiac nursing experience, including stepdown or cardiac progressive care settings
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience with self-scheduling platforms such as Kronos
