Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Cytogenetics

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a cytogenetics technologist for its Brentwood, Tennessee laboratory to perform tissue culture, karyotyping, FISH processing, and related diagnostic procedures. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a biological science and clinical laboratory experience, with Tuesday-Saturday scheduling.

Responsibilities

Perform tissue culture, harvesting, slide preparation, banding, and automated karyotyping procedures
Execute FISH processing, probing, and microscopy analysis following departmental protocols
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper functionality
Evaluate specimen acceptability and prepare quality control materials and reagents
Document preventive maintenance, quality control procedures, and maintain accurate test result reporting

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemical/biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
One year clinical laboratory testing experience or bachelor's in cytogenetics or MLS degree
Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and organizational skills
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in high-volume laboratory

Compensation: $4,000 sign-on bonus (external candidates only)
