Shipping Manager Details:

• Direct Hire position
• $ 60,000.00 to $ 75,000.00 / annually
• Salaried
• Oversee daily shipping operations, including scheduling, coordinating, and tracking outbound customer deliveries and yard transfers.
• Review and accurately process Bills of Lading, shipping reports, delivery documentation, and related paperwork.
• Coordinate load building and staging activities to ensure materials are accurately prepared and ready for scheduled deliveries.
• Manage and motivate load-building associates and commercial drivers, providing clear direction and maintaining accountability for performance and safety.
• Monitor shipments and delivery schedules to ensure on-time and accurate customer deliveries.
• Maintain consistent communication with customers regarding delivery schedules, order status, changes, delays, and other service-related issues.
• Work closely with the Yard Manager and other departments to coordinate daily yard activities and address operational challenges.
• Monitor inventory movement and material availability to support shipping schedules and identify potential shortages or discrepancies.
• Keep management informed of delays, damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, supplier issues, and other factors that may impact customer deliveries.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and transportation partners to resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies.
• Review vendor invoices, shipping documents, and related records for accuracy and identify potential discrepancies
• Promote a safe, organized, and efficient yard environment while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and team performance.

Shipping Manager Qualifications:

• Previous experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, yard operations, building materials, lumber, or a related industry.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to effectively manage, motivate, and develop employees.
• Strong understanding of shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, shipping reports, delivery paperwork, and inventory records.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Process-oriented leader who can prioritize tasks, make sound decisions, and provide clear direction in the best interest of the business.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize company-specific systems and software.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely navigate an active lumber yard environment.
