Staff Nurse Operating RoomThe Staff Nurse in the Operating Room provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals.Requirements:Graduate from an accredited School of NursingBachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities – HIGHLY PREFERREDOne (1) to two (2) years of operating room experience in acute care experienceCurrent New York State Licensed Registered Professional NurseCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)Certified Operating Nurse (CNOR) - PreferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComputer knowledge and skillsComputer application skills – ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft ExcelCommunicates in a therapeutic and professional manner.Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
