Food Service Worker IIThe Milford School District is seeking a dependable Food Service Worker II to support daily kitchen operations and meal service. This position assists with food preparation, service, sanitation, and record-keeping to ensure safe, efficient, and welcoming food service for students and staff.Essential Duties:Prepare and serve hot and cold meals in accordance with established menus and food safety standards.Record student meal transactions accurately using point-of-sale systemsMaintain sanitary conditions in food preparation, serving, and storage areasAssist with inventory control, ordering, and minimizing food wasteComplete daily production records and properly store leftoversClean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and cafeteria areasIdentify food allergens and follow allergy-safe meal proceduresWork collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with the Kitchen ManagerMaintain confidentiality and positive customer service with students, staff, and familiesPerform other related duties as assigned, including occasional catering supportKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Some knowledge of proper methods of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliancesSome knowledge of cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliancesAbility to follow simple oral and written instructionsAbility to read and write EnglishQualifications:High School diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience preparing food for large groups (school, institutional, or similar setting preferred)Knowledge of basic food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operationsAbility to read menus, recipes, and instructionsBasic math skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamServSafe certification (or ability to obtain)Certificate License: None requiredWork Schedule: School YearFSLA Status: Non-Exempt
