We are a state-of-the-art 100-bed long-term care nursing facility for individuals with mental illness orintellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Cook I, for our team in a caring and improving the daily lives ofour residents. COVID-19 vaccination is recommended Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Bakes, roasts, broils and fries' meat, fish and fowl in the dietary department for Glasgow State NursingFacility. Mixes and cooks' specialty dishes and delicate foods. Prepares, seasons and cooks' food for residents, employees, and visitors. Modifies diets, trims and cutsmeat, fish and fowl following recipes and any physicians' orders provided by dietician. Performs taste and smell test and adjusts cooking temperatures, seasoning food by taste test and recipe. Inspects food in storage for spoilage and expiration date. Assures sanitary storage and maintains kitchenutensils. Cleans and sanitizes work area and completes all cleaning assignments. Scrub pots and pans as needed. Mixes and cooks specialty dishes, delicate foods and therapeutic diets. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: NONE EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Vocational training in food service will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
