Licensed Veterinary Technician

Description Cedar Creek Animal Clinic, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, is hiring a full‑time Licensed Veterinary Technician. The Clinic provides primary care services for dogs and cats in Port Orchard, Belfair, Gig Harbor, Bremerton, Silverdale and Poulsbo. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician you will provide end‑to‑end care for our patients, ranging from outpatient treatments and surgical assistance to laboratory testing and hospitalized patient care. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients during outpatient appointments. Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow. Obtain pertinent health history and maintain medical charts. Assist in maintaining comprehensive medical records using practice systems. Perform anesthesia and sedation induction and monitoring, dentistry including dental radiographs and charting, obtain diagnostic radiographs, and provide nursing care as instructed by the DVM to hospitalized patients. Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, surgical suite, exam rooms, and labs. Prepare patients, medications, and equipment for examinations, surgery, dentistry and sedated procedures. Collect and prepare patient lab samples for in‑house and reference lab diagnostics. Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments. Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. Experience & Skills Requirements Current Washington State Veterinary Technician license. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Perform basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs, venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, medication administration, etc. Ability to enter medical notes and maintain records; type 45 wpm or more. Able to lift 40 lbs unassisted. Strong desire to practice empathetic, gold‑standard medicine benefiting patients through all life stages.
