Senior Software Engineer

Work location (specify UHG/UHC/Optum location or remote/telecommute)? Telecommute for now (when safe to return to work MN102)

Work hours (ex. 9am-5pm day/night shifts rotating shifts etc)? 7am-4pm day (Monday - Friday)

This role will support various Clinical investments to deliver solutions for business capabilities.

• Work with others in a cross-functional agile development environment
• Construct software using modern software principles and state of the art technologies
• Ability to troubleshoot coding issues
• Establish strong communication and cooperation with other company departments
• Participate in daily standups and deliver bi-weekly interactive demos to customers
• Participate in peer-reviews of code and offer suggested refactorings in line with best-practice design patterns
• Develop and integrate applications and systems to meet customer needs based on product owner requirements
• Support issues escalated to engineering
• Familiar with SCRUM/Agile process

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.)?

• Healthcare industry experience
• Experience with Azure / Kafka / Full Stack Java Engineering etc.

What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill)?

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in an engineering or software development field
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft.NET technology stack: C# /.NET, .NET Core, Web APIs
• Experience learning and communicating technical information
• Object Oriented design
• Knowledge of CI/CD
• Unit and Integration test practices
• 3+ years CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment), Test Automation

What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)? 1+ yr Experience with Kafka highly desired.
