Position Overview The Chiropractic Assistant will work closely with our doctors to ensure smooth office flow, excellent patient experiences, and accurate documentation. For the right candidate, we offer full tuition coverage for the New Jersey Chiropractic Assistant licensing course. Once licensed, you will be able to perform patient examinations, directly assist the doctors with care, and earn a higher pay rate plus bonuses. Licensed Chiropractic Assistant FAQs What is a Licensed Chiropractic Assistant (LCA)? An individual holding a license issued by the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners to practice chiropractic assistance under the supervision of a NJ licensed chiropractor. A licensed chiropractic assistant may use the full title or its abbreviation, “LCA.” Why should I become an LCA? New Jersey is the first state in the nation to offer individuals the opportunity to attain licensure as a Chiropractic Assistant. The LCA provides an invaluable service to the public, the profession, and patients who seek natural healthcare services. Who can take this training to become an LCA? According to the NJSCB among other requirements an applicant shall be 18 years old or older and have successfully completed high school or its equivalent to be eligible to complete this program. How do I become an LCA? A candidate must be at least 18 years old, be of good moral character, and have successfully completed high school or its equivalent. A candidate is expected to successfully complete 500 hours of training: 120-hours of coursework and 380-hours of clinical training supervised by an approved LCA Clinical Trainer. An application, along with proof of successful completion of the approved training, will need to be submitted directly to the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The 380-hour clinical training will include, active therapeutic rehabilitative procedures, passive physiotherapeutics, and heath data collection. Yes, the coursework and clinical training can be done concurrently. It is highly recommended that you complete Modules 1-13 of the online coursework prior to assisting in treating a patient. How do I find an approved LCA Clinical Trainer? Northeast/CE has created a directory of approved Trainers. The listing is available on our website at What if my LCA Clinical Trainer does not use rehabilitation procedures or modalities in their practice? You will need to find an LCA Clinical Trainer to mentor and evaluate this required portion of the training. You can have more than one LCA Clinical Trainer. Each will have to attest to your successful completion of the specific requirements they supervised. How long will it take to become an LCA? The Northeast College of Health Sciences' Licensed Chiropractic Assistant 120-hour training program is designed to be a 12-18 month course of study. A candidate should be able to complete all of the required training within 1-2 years. How much will it cost for me to become an LCA? The approximated cost to become an LCA is $1,500 - $1,600 Northeast/CE 120-hour training course is $1,350.00 There are additional required materials, plus the New Jersey State Board of Chiropractic Examiners' application fee. Do I have to pay an LCA Clinical Trainer to train me? There are no provisions by statute or policy that direct or endorse a fee for the clinical training services the Trainer is providing to the Candidate. Is the LCA Clinical Trainer required to pay me while in training? The Trainer is not required to compensate you while they provide you with the training unless you are their employee; however you may need to be added to their malpractice insurance.
