Material Handlder - Shuttle Truck Driver

Job Description
Performs inspection, packing, material handling, document preparation, truck loading and frequent driving of company truck among local buildings while conforming to customer requirements in a multi-task manufacturing team environment. Position requires driving a non-CDL 26 foot straight truck. Support tasks may include, but not be limited to, cost, schedule and quality tracking, material procurement, and occasional interface with customers and suppliers. Performs basic tests as needed. Each individual is responsible for performing a variety of activities as a member of a high involvement production team.

All positions require:

1. Reading and following plannings, reports, prints, drawings, or other instructions.

2. Entry of data, product status, and/ or time into computer systems.

3. Performance of work in adherence to SHE regulations and Company policies.

4. Utilizes various material handling equipment to move material throughout the shipping process:

forklifts (stand up and sit down)
pallet jacks
carts
dolleys

1. Drives company straight truck to move material among all buildings on campus
2. Loads/unloads freight of all kinds (boxes, crates, drums, pallets, chassis)
3. Packs and crates high-value components for export and domestic shipping
4. Accurately completes required paperwork and updates various computer systems
5. Verifies quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, document numbers, weights and dimensions
6. Accurately follows/interprets all customer and/or government specific shipping requirement
7. Performs transactions with computerized time collection and inventory system

Must have valid drivers license with no record of violations. Continued employment will be contingent upon a successful assessment of truck-driving skills .

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• HS Diploma or GED
• Lift up to 50lbs

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Familiarity with related material handling equipment and processes.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Possess adequate hand / eye coordination and visual acuity to perform required tasks.
• Obtains maintains required certifications, which includes hands-on training, written test(s), work sample review and visual examination.
• Maintains required certification(s) which includes work sample submittal (or equivalent substitute), written test, and visual examination.
• Computer literate to carry out data entry, product status updates, and time entry into computer system.
• Ability to read and fully comprehend written instructions in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculation of percentages) to ensure understanding of plannings.
• Ability to perform and understand required measurements and dimensions..
• Ability to understand statistical process control data.
• Reasoning ability to deal with problems including several variables which may not have standardized solutions.
• Ability to manage conflict and participate in team activities.
• Ability and willingness to recommend improvements in process.
• Following of work instructions unless written permission from an authorized employee is given to deviate from these requirements.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $38041 - $60865

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
