Role Summary The Project Specialist is responsible for coordinating, engaging in, and providing oversight of projects, budgets, processes, and the policies and procedures essential to the success of global and departmental programs. This role focuses on organizing project activities, delegating tasks, and supporting implementation efforts in dynamic, evolving environments. Key Responsibilities This team coordinates the day-to-day project activities across a global network of hospitals, including the following tasks: Support implementation of evidence-based interventions, including the PEWS tool (Pediatric Early Warning Systems) Facilitate communication between internal teams, regional partners, and hospitals Assist with project delegation, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables are met Support development and standardization of processes, workflows, and tools Contribute to training and guidance for hospital teams adopting new systems Help organize and analyze implementation and quality improvement efforts Program Impact The team enables hospitals to identify clinical deterioration earlier and intervene more effectively, leading to improved patient outcomes. Through global collaboration and implementation science, the program helps institutions adapt best practices to their local context—especially in resource-limited settings—driving meaningful improvements in pediatric critical care. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree 1+ years of experience in program coordination Some experience with project planning tools like MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview; MS Office is a plus Preferred Experience Project management experience, ideally in healthcare Exposure to quality improvement or implementation science Familiarity with clinical or healthcare environments Candidate Profile This position is well-suited for someone who is highly organized with strong attention to detail, adaptable, and comfortable working in evolving, ambiguous environments. The ability to balance innovation with building structured processes and SOPs is important, as is great communication across diverse audiences. Remote Work Policy This role may be eligible for remote work. However, St. Jude requires all remote employees to: Travel to our Memphis campus for the interview process and/or orientation, if selected Travel to Memphis to work on-site for one week per quarter, or as requested based on business needs, if hired Department Overview The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for dynamic professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research. Job Summary The Program Specialist assists in designing, implementing, and overseeing projects and initiatives within and for the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) and St. Jude Global (SJG). Responsible for researching, documenting, and disseminating information as needed. Under the supervision of the GPM director or manager and as assigned, serves as a project team contributor. Acts as a liaison with other members of GPM and SJG and its collaborators to ensure coordination and success of departmental, regional, and/or global initiatives and departmental requirements. Detailed Responsibilities Assist in and manage, implement, and oversee complex global health quality improvement programs across Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) Coordinate communication between stakeholders in LMIC networks of hospitals and training centers and St Jude Global Provide technical advice for implementing quality improvement projects in diverse geographical and resource settings Identify global health determinants in collaborating sites as enablers and barriers to sustaining quality improvement projects across LMICs Apply complex science of implementation concepts to program initiatives Adapt training material and/or strategies to train international networks of essential healthcare workers for implementing quality improvement programs Foster work relationships to ensure program sustainability and scalability across countries Ensure adherence to clinical trial and/or quality improvement initiatives, data collection methods, and reporting procedures Design and improve systems and procedures for monitoring and evaluating processes, project outcomes, and project data and records Support the development of reports for collaborations and initiatives to support strategic decision‑making Maintain relevant data and project records for all activities, ensuring alignment with overarching goals and compliance with institutional policies Develop figures and data visualization tools for stakeholders, including cost tracking and auditing reports Oversee education, capacity building, and research in collaborating partner sites in LMICs Implement and manage projects involving research/quality improvement, capacity building, and education/training Develop and disseminate communications regarding the program or project Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution Travel nationally and internationally for site visits, conferences, and workshops (travel estimate 4–6 trips per year, 10–15% of the time) Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Shows a general understanding of the customer needs and program objectives Exhibits basic grasp of project management processes like scoping, scheduling, milestones, reporting, tools (MS Project, etc.), and templates to support program planning and coordination Strong interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite Cultural sensitivity is a must Education and Experience Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required Minimum Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience in program coordination; some experience/knowledge in working with project planning tools like MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office is a plus Equal Opportunity Employer St. Jude is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Inc.
