Welder I

POSITION OVERVIEW Position will work in Weld, Round, and Flange and will weld, cut and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.

KEY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Able to read tags.
• Ability to tack weld with MIG weld.
• Able to correctly and efficiently flange pipe.
• Build and stuff wall fittings.
• Able to correctly change lead and liner.
• Ability to use and read a tape measure.
• Setup welder correctly according to specifications.
• Able to choose the correct shielding gas and attach to welding gun.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school education (or equivalent) preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred with 0 to 2 years' experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.

COMPUTER SKILLS Basic computer skills may be preferred or required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS None Required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required achieving internal and external customer satisfaction.
