iOS Home Video Engineer Salary: $20-30/Hour • Company: Apple • Location: Sacramento, USA Responsibilities The iOS Home application serves as the central hub for a secure and insightful home management experience. We are building advanced features that transform how users interact with their homes. As an architect on our team, you will design and implement the integrated HomeKit video capabilities on iOS, support HomeKit surveillance cameras, build and maintain core video handling and camera systems, and deliver high‑performance experiences such as real‑time video start and rapid access to recorded clips. Your work will span from UI design to foundational code, and you will collaborate closely with iOS design, hardware, security, and other teams across Apple. Key Capabilities Solid programming skills, ideally in Swift and Objective‑C Broad knowledge of video handling and codecs Deep understanding of performance and efficiency across operating system layers Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Passionate curiosity and a desire to solve everyday problems creatively Attention to detail and focus on the small elements that matter to our customers Qualifications Four‑year degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience building or architecting complex iOS applications, particularly involving hardware integration, video, or media Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and networking High proficiency in object‑oriented design and Swift/Objective‑C development Experience with performance profiling and optimization on iOS devices Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code and to mentor peers Good understanding of camera subsystems, media pipelines, and low‑level hardware APIs Training and Experience Applicants should have a four‑year university education in software engineering or a closely related field, with significant experience designing and building robust iOS solutions.
