Job Description

Join our team as a machine operator at a wire extrusion facility in Santa Ana, CA. The role is perfect for someone eager to learn and grow, with opportunities for advancement into lead and supervisor positions. This position is on the day shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm , and your pay will be based on your experience. The role involves operating equipment to manufacture products per specifications, with a focus on safety, organization, and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to work orders, specifications, and drawings.
• Perform line clearance to ensure materials from previous jobs are removed before starting new work.
• Verify materials and part numbers against work orders before processing.
• Complete required production documentation, including setup sheets, inspection records, and material verification forms.
• Update setup sheets when changes occur and ensure all documentation is signed, dated, and approved.
• Report production quantities and hours worked accurately at the end of each shift.
• Handle materials properly, including wrapping, labeling, and returning unused materials to inventory promptly.
• Ensure all packages, reels, and bags are correctly labeled according to company requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures and report issues to supervision as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience operating manufacturing or industrial equipment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with hand and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and production materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The shop is of decent size and offers opportunities for growth. It may be warm due to the machines, and there is exposure to heat and noise.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Ana,CA.
