Associate Scientist I, Research
Vaxcyte
Vaxcyte seeks an Associate Scientist I to support analytical characterization of bacterial polysaccharide conjugate vaccines. The role involves executing established laboratory assays, preparing samples and reagents, and analyzing data to characterize in-process intermediates and drug substances in a research environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine analytical assays including HPLC-SEC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and colorimetric assays on vaccine intermediates and drug substances
- Independently prepare buffers, reagents, and samples according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate experimental records in laboratory notebooks and Benchling database
- Recognize unexpected assay findings and communicate results to cross-functional teams
- Support evaluation and implementation of additional analytical assays as project needs evolve
Requirements
- Hands-on laboratory experience with analytical techniques
- Strong foundation in analytical chemistry principles
- Proficiency with protein and polysaccharide characterization methods
- Experience or familiarity with chromatography, electrophoresis, or plate-based assays
- Ability to follow established protocols independently after training
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reproducible work
