Job Summary and Qualifications Functions as sterile member of the operating room nursing team, assists surgeons and professional nursing staff as directed, assists with management of equipment and supplies, assists with orientation of new scrub technician staff, and provides call coverage as assigned. Preparation of equipment and supplies for operative procedures Prepare and maintain sterile field for duration of procedure Provide instruments to surgeon/assistant, take proper care of instruments, specimens (including the correct labeling information to the circulating nurse) Orientation of new scrub tech staff Facilitate the smooth operation of the proposed schedule Understand and carry out the principles of sterilization techniques Possess knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology, instrumentation and supplies used during surgical procedures, assess patients and procedures to have all necessary supplies readily available, assist with care and sterilization of instruments Transports and handles non- controlled medications, receives and hands off controlled and non-controlled medications to physicians from the sterile field. What qualifications you will need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (CSFA) Certified Surgical First Assistant Certificate, or Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree 1 years experience required Benefits Medical City Arlington, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
