Electro-Mechanical TechnicianSHINE Technologies is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician who will implement mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation and controls maintenance activities, based on individual training and qualification, at a Medical Isotope Production Facility, in Janesville, WI. The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the performance of preventive maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing first-of-a-kind and specialty nuclear and chemical processing equipment as well as standard industrial facility electrical and HVAC equipment.The Electro-Mechanical Technician supports safe, reliable operation of the Medical Isotope Production Facility by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, HVAC, and facility systems. The role works in accordance with approved procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards; documents work accurately; supports commissioning and continuous improvement; and partners with Operations and other departments to restore equipment performance and prevent recurrence of equipment issues.Successful candidates understand that the Maintenance organization is one of diligence, hard work, and action. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.Duties and Responsibilities of the Electro-Mechanical Technician:Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Safely perform routine and non-routine installation, maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repair of various components and equipment in a nuclear isotope production facility, including but not limited to, industrial compressed air system, high purity water system, HVAC systems.Safely perform testing and surveillance activities related to the start-up and commissioning of a new facility and or new manufacturing equipment; analyze problems with equipment and system performance and recommend corrective action.Keep all required training current and follow all regulatory requirements.Support the department's budget by exercising sound judgment, promoting cost-effective decisions, and implementing best practices.Develop or assist in the development of work instructions for maintenance activities.Provide clear, written feedback on work execution and performance, and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.Safely perform all work within facility approved administrative and regulatory guidelines and procedures.Safely performs daily and routine facility and equipment checks, surveillance logs, and work area housekeeping.Safely operate powered industrial trucks, overhead bridge cranes, and similar equipment.Perform administrative activities associated with plant activities.RequirementsHigh school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or laboratory setting with familiarity with chemical, mechanical and/or electrical systems.Willingness to learn and understand new technology, instrumentation, and technical processes.Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems including BAS, pneumatic, vacuum, electrical, electronic, PLCs, and cooling systems.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and P&IDs.Ability to follow written procedures and accurately record data.Managing and completing corrective maintenance and project work in a timely and effective manner to support operational continuity.Ability to work safely within an industrial and radiation environment.Although flexible work hours may be available, overtime will sometimes be necessary to complete required work assignment with little or no advance notice.The position may require non-standard work hours and shift work, including nights and weekends, on a periodic, rotating, or ongoing basis.Preferred:Associate's degree in a relevant engineering technology or related technical or physical science field.Familiarity with working in highly regulated environment.Experience working in and around radiation areas is preferred.Experience in radiopharmaceutical laboratory, commercial nuclear facility maintenance or operations, or Navy Nuclear experience is a significant plus.Working Conditions and Physical Effort:Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.Work involves standing and walking for long periods at a time.Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 50 pounds.Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.The role requires the ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold.Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.Exposure to radiation fields (within regulatory dose limits), requiring comfort working in radiologically controlled areas with dosimetry badges and monitoring.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions and wearing specific Personal Protective Equipment.Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant's ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls.
