Energy Efficiency Director

Groundswell, Inc.

This is an exciting opportunity to make meaningful impact through a core Groundswell product, operating across multiple markets, by working with Groundswell’s strategic partners. The incumbent will ensure that timely deployment of residential repairs and energy efficiency improvements are made through vendors and partners locally, and statewide. The Energy Efficiency Director plays a critical role in delivering a soup to nuts approach of direct home pre-weatherization and energy efficiency upgrades, directly impacting the Groundswell mission. The role requires a systematic and data-driven approach of community-based applications, accurate Salesforce data entry and tracking, and full deployment of contractors to complete repairs. The Energy Efficiency Director is responsible for meeting market-wide program goals of Groundswell’s energy efficiency program, SOUL (Saving on Utilities Long-Term). The incumbent will utilize data to provide real-time updates on progress and forward-looking projections for internal and external audiences to aid in decision-making. A strong background in project management, Salesforce, data analysis and visualization, and construction project management will be required to be successful. Communicating and managing up, down, and influencing the performance of external partners will be critical for daily tasks. Reporting to the SVP of Market Development and Deployment this role serves as a cross-functional leader in the organization— balancing medium-term planning with near-term execution in a lean, fast-growing organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SOUL Delivery Program Operations & Delivery: Lead the internal staff team, external contractors, and the process to repair hundreds of homes per year with pre-weatherization and weatherization upgrades through a variety of private and public funding sources. The incumbent will lead end-to-end operational workflows for the SOUL program using real-time data and monthly performance metrics, coordinating internal teams, contractors, and partners to increase home repair completion rates, reduce delays, and ensure clear accountability. Contractor Recruitment and Management: Identify and recruit a network of qualified residential construction and / or energy-efficiency contractors. Manage existing contractors to meet program growth goals by keeping crews fully scheduled weeks in advance. Maintain strong contractor relationships to ensure high-quality workmanship, compliance with program standards, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Salesforce Strategy & Data Management: Translate program activity into meaningful data insights from Salesforce, maintaining clean and actionable data, with dashboards and reports to support operational tracking, funding visibility, and decision-making. Ensure your team is following Groundswell’s data entry protocol for all SOUL/ energy efficiency-related projects. Budget Management: Oversee and track the real-time progress of homes while managing and reporting on multiple funding sources. Ensure accurate budget monitoring, alignment of expenditures with funding requirements, and transparent reporting on financial performance and project milestones to support program accountability and decision-making. Supervisory: The incumbent will build and lead a focused team of Construction Project Managers responsible for project oversight and field operations. These managers supervise Community Navigators who guide customers through the entire program journey from enrollment to project completion. The role includes setting team priorities, monitoring performance, driving accountability, and ensuring a high-quality, efficient customer experience while maintaining company standards and ensuring compliance. Partner Relationship Management: Build trusted and effective relationships with leaders of key stakeholders to accomplish goals through their systems. Georgia Power and their consultants, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority and their consultants, external non-profit project partners, various municipal leaders, and philanthropic supporters are all important to advancing the SOUL program. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable) As a member of the Groundswell team, the Energy Efficiency Director is expected to participate in the overall execution of Groundswell programs, including presenting work to existing and potential funders.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Will supervise a growing team of Construction Project Managers and other program-related staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is based in South Atlanta, GA and is expected to work in-office four days per month in alignment with Groundswell’s hybrid/remote work plan.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS

This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position. The days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and core hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

Occasional regional travel will be required for this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field (or equivalent experience) 5 + years of experience in residential construction or construction project management, or related field 2 + years of project management experience 5 years of people management experience 2 years of experience using Snugg Pro or comparable energy auditing software 4 years of experience with residential energy efficiency installation standards

SUPERVISION

The Energy Efficiency Director will report to Groundswell’s SVP of Market Development and Deployment.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position is in Groundswell's established pay band for thedirector level and it includes a full-time employee benefits package.

BENEFITS

Groundswell pays 100% of the monthly premium for health, dental, vision, and long-term disability for full-time employees in accordance with Groundswell’s policy. Groundswell also covers 50% of spouses and dependents covered under the Groundswell healthcare, vision, and dental plan. Matching 401 (k) plan contribution by Groundswell up to 4% for employees who choose to contribute to Groundswell’s 401 (k) plan, with immediate vesting. Monthly Development Days to focus on professional development opportunities
  • 45 per month to reimburse cellular phone use for business purposes.
  • 75 per month to reimburse home internet access for business purposes.
Fifteen (15) paid vacation days per year; eight (8) sick days; and two (2) personal days. Vacation and sick leave accrue at the start of your employment, restart each year on January 1, and increase with tenure. Personal days begin after six months of employment. Groundswell also takes nine (9) paid federal holidays and a holiday break from December 24th to January 1st (inclusive). Short-Term Disability Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, and Voluntary Life available. Pre-tax benefits such as Smart Benefits, Flexible spending accounts, and Dependent care are also available.
