Medical Records Specialist

US Heart and Vascular is needing a Medical Records Specialist to join our team at Cardiovascular Clinics of North Georgia in Gainesville GA.Responsibilities:Maintains and updates patient medical records in electronic or paper formatEnsure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of medical records.Processes requests for the release of medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Retrieves and files medical records as needed for healthcare providers and administrative staff.Scans, inputs, and organizes medical documents into electronic health record systems.Assists with coding and billing processes related to medical records.Responds to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding medical records.Compiles and prepares reports on medical record activity and data.Follows organizational policies and procedures for record retention and disposal.Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to maintain efficient record-keeping practices.Participates in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on medical record management practices.Provides administrative support to the medical records department as needed.Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.Follows processes and policies for the organization.Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.Adapts to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.Performs other duties as assigned.Requirements:High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Cardiology practice experience.Why Choose Us?Comprehensive benefits packageMonday-Friday scheduleCME allowanceAbout Gainesville, GAGainesville is located near Lake Lanier and the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Gainesville offers an exceptional quality of life with:Excellent schoolsAbundant outdoor recreationAffordable cost of livingConvenient access to Atlanta #J-18808-Ljbffr
