Food Service Worker

The Leaguers, Incorporated is seeking both part-time and full-time food service workers for its Head Start and Early Head Start Centers. The food service worker is responsible for serving meals (breakfast, lunch, and snacks) daily using pre-established standards and schedules. Ensure meals are ready on time by conducting advance food preparation; ensure that children with special diets receive appropriate meals; review and confirm invoices against delivered items. Take corrective actions when necessary; post menus and maintain document accessibility; verify current licensing and inspection reports are posted; participate in designated trainings when required.

MUST hold a NJ Food Handlers License; high school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of food service experience preferred. Salary: $18.65 hourly.

Program locations include Newark: 101-103 Arlington Street, 671 Montgomery Avenue, 999 Broad Street, 731 Clinton Avenue, 750 Clinton Avenue Judith Diggs - 302-316 16th Avenue, 200 So. Orange Avenue, 553-567 Orange Street, 302-324 Springfield Avenue Irvington: 10-12 Marshall Street, 100 Linden Avenue Union County: 1111 Chandler Avenue, Roselle, NJ 1189 E. Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ. Candidates assignments will be based on program needs and employee preference.

Full-time fringe benefit package includes health, dental and life insurance, 403-B retirement plan, ten (10) month or twelve (12) month position (depends on program), sick and personal days, paid holidays, winter and spring recess, state-of-the-art classrooms, professional training.
