Job Title: Field Technician Job Description

As a Field Technician, you install, configure, commission, and quality-check ground-system installations at new sites, focusing on electrical and network systems. You diagnose and resolve basic electrical, network, system, and site faults within a defined configuration scope, and perform maintenance and upgrades that improve system uptime and reliability in support of autonomous aviation and drone delivery operations.

• Diagnose and resolve basic electrical, network, system, and site faults within the defined configuration scope, while not performing electrician-level tasks.
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance and system upgrades to improve ground-system uptime, reliability, and overall performance.
• Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to document, track, and resolve issues using company ticketing platforms.
• Maintain accurate records of site surveys, installations, maintenance actions, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting steps.
• Manage accountability programs for tools, calibration equipment, and vehicles, ensuring proper use, tracking, and care.
• Follow safety protocols, electrical standards, manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Contribute improvements to installation standards, troubleshooting guides, and operational processes based on field experience.
• Perform hands-on work such as conduit installation and bending, cable and wire pulling, mechanical and electrical assembly, and general construction-related tasks.
• Support operational infrastructure and autonomous delivery systems through on-site troubleshooting, repairs, and operational assistance.
• Adapt to changing sites, technologies, and procedures while resolving time-sensitive technical problems in the field.

• Practical knowledge of basic mechanical systems and residential or light-commercial electrical work.
• Familiarity with low-voltage and network systems, including basic configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and installation manuals.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, including wiring, conduit work, and component installation.
• Competence using hand tools and construction tools for installation, repair, and general labor tasks.
• Strong organization and inventory-management skills for tools, parts, and equipment.
• Careful adherence to installation standards, manuals, and safety procedures for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot time-sensitive problems, develop practical fixes, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficiency with basic office software for documentation, record-keeping, and ticketing systems.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
• Availability for shifts that may include days, evenings, and weekends.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed and up to 80% or more during the first three months for offsite or remote training.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to lift or move up to 55 pounds.

• Experience in an electrical pathway, such as low-voltage or network systems installation and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a construction pathway, including general construction, heavy steel work, and material-handling equipment.
• Comfort working with cable installation, wire pulling, conduit bending, and related field tasks.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints in a field environment.
• OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Experience working independently in the field while collaborating effectively with operations, engineering, and flight teams.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, tools, and procedures in a rapidly evolving environment.

This is a hands-on, field-based technician role supporting operational infrastructure and autonomous delivery systems in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. The work environment emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement, with a mix of preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and operational support. You spend significant time working outdoors in varying weather conditions and at different sites, using hand tools, mechanical and electrical equipment, and standard office software for documentation. Shifts may include days, evenings, and weekends, and the role involves regular travel, including substantial travel during the initial training period. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
