About Axon 911 Axon 911 combines Prepared and Carbyne into a single platform that marries modern 911 infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer, helping public safety agencies move faster, make better decisions, and deliver better outcomes in the moments that matter most. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced frontend engineer focused on resiliency, real‑time responsiveness, and seamless integration across web and desktop platforms to join the Prepared team. This hybrid role (four days per week in our Manhattan office) offers the opportunity to work with a growing team of ~60 engineers and make a large impact while enjoying a high degree of autonomy and ownership. You will help shape the foundation of Prepared’s engineering culture. What You’ll Do Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to translate complex user requirements into performant, intuitive features. Drive the adoption of best practices in front‑end development to meet high‑resiliency needs for complex and mission‑critical systems. Heavily influence architectural design and implementation of scalable, reusable front‑end systems using React . Analyze and address architectural challenges such as state management, rendering performance, and scaling complex UIs. Contribute to and advocate for front‑end testing strategies, ensuring high‑quality code through unit and integration tests. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing across the team. What Makes You a Great Fit 5+ years of software engineering industry experience, with at least 3 years focused on designing and engineering user‑facing features and interfaces. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in React and TypeScript. Familiarity working with GraphQL APIs. Deep understanding of front‑end architecture, including state management (e.g., Redux, Context API). Desire to work in a fast‑paced and dynamic startup environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working closely with product and design teams. Enthusiasm for AI‑augmented ways of building software. Base pay for this role ranges from USD141,000 to USD216,600, depending on geographic market and other factors. Compensation also includes bonus and stock awards.
