Civil Engineer – Land Development

Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil/site plans for land development projects
• Prepare grading, drainage, utility, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management plans
• Perform site layout and grading calculations
• Assist with permitting and coordination with local municipalities and regulatory agencies
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Review plans and specifications for accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
• Assist with construction administration, site inspections, and responding to contractor questions
• Manage project tasks, schedules, and deliverables as experience level allows
• Support senior engineers and project managers on larger or more complex projects

Qualifications

• 2–20 years of civil engineering experience, preferably with a focus on land development or site design
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with land development, site design, grading, drainage, and utility design
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil design software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a project team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
