Physician - Medical Director of CLC The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Physician Medical Director for the Community Living Center at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System in Marion, IN. The Medical Director is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of the CLC, ensuring high-quality care for Veteran residents, providing direct medical care, leading interdisciplinary care planning, supervising clinical activities, and supporting quality improvement, compliance, and resident outcomes. Conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up assessments of residents. Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Ensure optimal functioning of primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and patient management. Maintain current knowledge of standards and best practices in geriatric and long-term care medicine. Provide clinical and administrative oversight of the Community Living Center. Oversee and coordinate clinical activities and medical staff within the CLC. Ensure compliance with VA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Serve as a key member of the CLC leadership team. Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes. Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences. Monitor and improve quality measures, performance metrics, and resident outcomes. Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to clinical staff, residents, and fellows. Basic Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens cannot be recruited in accordance with VA policy. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Must have a Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine. Medical degree must be from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year the course of study was completed. Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. Must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification, unless otherwise covered by VA policy. Preferred Experience/Qualifications: Board certified or board eligible physician preferred. Experience in Primary Care Medicine preferred. Experience or interest in geriatric, long-term care, or Community Living Center medicine preferred. Education: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent allopathic or osteopathic medical degree is required. Schools of medicine must have been accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education for the year the degree was granted. Schools of osteopathic medicine must have been approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation for the year the degree was granted.
