The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x‑ray examinations under supervision and supports other areas of the facility. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one‑on‑one patient care while thriving in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities Radiologic Technologist Duties Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escorting them to dressing and x‑ray rooms, providing verbal and written instructions, and assisting in positioning body parts to be radiographed. Operate radiologic equipment, produce images, set exposure time and distance according to examination specifications, and take x‑rays following regulations. Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to protect patients and team members. Maintain equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure working order. Follow radiology workflows and ensure reports cross correctly to EMR. Document patient x‑ray visits and complete required records. Maintain equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping per policy. Medical Assistant Duties Perform DOT and non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing. Take vital signs and conduct ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, respirator fit). Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.). Assist providers during examination and treatment. Perform routine medical procedures ordered by the treating clinician, triage emergent patients when needed. Prepare and assist with procedure set‑up and injury care. Apply bandages, dressings, splints as ordered. Dispense medications and DME per regulations. Conduct QA on equipment and devices, and test processes. Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms. Operate all medical devices, calibrate, keep records per policy. Notify supervisor of non‑functioning equipment, supply needs, or facility issues. Partner with leadership to assist with patient flow and volume. Inform patients of expected wait times throughout the visit. Handle clerical tasks in front and back office, ensuring proper record keeping. Ensure accurate documentation. Perform front‑office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check‑in/out, answer multi‑line system, distribute employer results, etc. Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules. Attend staff meetings or huddles as required. Assist in maintaining neat, clean, orderly appearance. Complete any applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology school and state‑approved certification. Registered with ARRT with active certification. CPR/First Aid Certification. Job‑Related Experience At least six months of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology. Preferred knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state‑specific) and prior experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service setting.
