Work Environment
You will work onsite at our outpatient office located in Arlington, Virginia, where you will interact closely with a diverse patient population. With working hours from Monday to Friday, your typical day will include hands-on patient interaction, assessments, and collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring function, aligning with each patient’s specific goals.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients using diagnostic and prognostic tools to assess muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.
- Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective execution of treatment plans and compliance with established protocols.
- Assess patients' home environments, providing recommendations to enhance safety and independence during rehabilitation.
- Administer manual therapeutic exercises, instruct patients in non-manual exercises, and guide them through their functional activities.
- Document and maintain accurate clinical records including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries to support the patient's rehabilitation journey.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with physicians and case managers to adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to develop comprehensive treatment strategies and share insights regarding patient care.
- Educate patients and families on therapy techniques, device usage, and self-care strategies to encourage independence and active participation in recovery.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a Physical Therapist at PerformAX Physical Therapy, you will primarily work with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, surgical procedures, and chronic pain conditions. Our clientele is diverse and includes individuals of all ages, from children recovering from sports injuries to seniors managing arthritis or post-operative rehabilitation. The focus on outpatient care means you will be engaged in short-term, focused rehabilitation often leading to progressive improvement in functional abilities and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is essential.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an outpatient or similar setting.
- Valid and current PT licensure in Virginia, in good standing.
- Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety and emergency preparedness.
- A strong commitment to delivering clinical excellence and a focus on quality care.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate patients and their families.
- A positive attitude with a collaborative approach to patient care and team dynamics.
- Proficiency in utilizing clinical documentation systems and an understanding of relevant healthcare regulations.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
