Emergency Room Nurse (RN)This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, requiring evening shifts with a length of 12 hours. A commitment of 36 hours per week is guaranteed, involving 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week rotation.Unit InformationWorking within a dynamic Emergency Room unit that includes:12 patient beds plus 1 triage roomA fast track area included in the 12 roomsIntermixed ER holds, with a transfer goal of 3 hours1 psych/seclusion room equipped for safetyIn-house security available 24/7An average of 88 patients seen dailyStaffing ratios of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:6 for Urgent Care patientsResponsibilitiesThe Emergency Room Nurse will be skilled in:Managing patient care in a fast-paced environmentPerforming triage duties, including assessing patient needsCollaborating with medical staff, including 1-2 physicians on siteUtilizing EPIC for electronic medical recordsConducting nursing assessments and interventionsDrawing blood and performing necessary lab testsQualificationsApplicants must meet the following qualifications:Two years of recent experience in an Emergency Room settingRequired certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCCShifts and SchedulingThe position involves 12-hour shifts with rotations every 6 weeks. Nurses are expected to meet holiday requirements of 1 major holiday in the summer and 1 in the winter.Additional InformationThe unit provides specific orientation, including 1-2 shifts of shadowing and online modules. Floating may occur within the Federal Services Emergency Departments, with volunteers given priority.Dress CodeThe dress code is black scrubs.
