About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team at a well-established commercial office property in Norfolk. This is a hands-on, independent role where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance needs of the building and play an important part in keeping the property running smoothly.

This position is a great fit for a technician who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable troubleshooting building systems with minimal supervision.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct routine building inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs throughout the property, including:
  • Lighting, bulbs, and ballasts
  • Basic plumbing repairs such as faucets, flush valves, and handles
  • General building maintenance
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain pneumatic HVAC systems.
• Investigate issues with aging building systems and determine the appropriate solution.
• Respond to tenant maintenance requests while providing professional, courteous customer service.
• Work closely with the onsite property manager and coordinate with vendors and contractors when needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports using Microsoft Office.
• Assist with lock and hardware issues; locksmith experience is a plus.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of hands-on commercial office building maintenance experience.
• Strong experience troubleshooting pneumatic HVAC systems.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage your time effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership of building maintenance needs.
• Comfortable working with older building systems and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Locksmith experience is preferred but not required.
