Staff Nurse PT Nights UCHC SWSP (Multiple Vacancies) University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) of Rutgers University seeks a Full Time Staff Nurse for Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The role focuses on ambulatory care for inmates and requires immediate response to health needs in a correctional setting. Responsibilities Provides direct and indirect nursing care for residents and families across age groups. Performs assessments in intake areas, health care units, emergency situations, clinics, and infirmary. Collaborates with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment. Identifies goals and nursing objectives, implementing interventions for identified problems. Plans care based on assessments, makes timely referrals, and initiates care per institutional policies. As a team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides other team members. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in New Jersey. CPR certification required. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle or alternative transportation. Preferred: Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. Preferred: Minimum of one year experience in a correctional setting.
