Financial Reporting Intern - Summer 2027 | National Life Group The Tone: This is an internship at National Life Group, located in Montpelier, VT, with an onsite work schedule four days a week. The TL;DR Role: Internship Type: Temporary Location: In-person Montpelier, VT Pay: $19-$28 hourly Team: Financial Reporting team, collaborating across the CFO organization Mission: Assist with financial reporting activities to understand how financial information is prepared, validated, analyzed, and communicated for both GAAP and statutory reporting. Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Workday What You’ll Actually Do Contribute to GAAP and statutory financial reporting activities, including reconciliations, validation, and supporting schedules. Support the preparation and review of financial statements, MD&A, and other financial reporting materials. Participate in the monthly and quarterly financial reporting and close processes. Execute an individual project focusing on accounting research, process improvement, technology, or AI application. Gain exposure to ERP system transitions, such as Workday, and their impact on financial reporting. The Must-Haves Background: Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Entry-Level. Experience: Strong interest in accounting and financial reporting, with a willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, clear and effective written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
