We are seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon (cardiac surgeon / thoracic surgeon / vascular surgeon) for a locum tenens assignment at a major medical center in Idaho Falls, ID. This role offers hands-on operative work, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the chance to impact critical cardiac and thoracic cases while enjoying Idaho Falls' strong quality of life.

• Location: Idaho Falls, ID (Idaho cardiothoracic surgery jobs / Idaho healthcare)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,150 - $7,280
• Start Date: July 1, 2026
• End Date: December 16, 2026
• Shifts: 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM)
• Shift Duration: 12 Hour Days
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: Up to 24 weeks (locum tenens)
• Support Staff: First-assistant (NP/PA), two surgical techs, RN circulator, anesthesiologist, ICU and step-down nursing staff
• Practice EMR: Meditech

• Current Idaho medical license and DEA/CSR required
• American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification required
• Competency in adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases
• Proven ability to perform open heart procedures, including CABG and aortic dissection repair
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant post-training experience (locum tenens and surgical jobs experience preferred)

• Provide 24/7 call coverage for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery cases (locum tenens physician job)
• Perform open heart surgeries, including CABG and aortic dissection repairs
• Round daily on all inpatients and manage perioperative care
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team-anesthesiology, ICU, step-down, advanced practice providers, and surgical techs-to deliver high-quality patient care
• Accurately document all patient interactions and procedures in Meditech EMR

• High-acuity surgical experience with strong OR and ICU support
