Senior Accountant

Paramount Brands is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the integrity of the company's financial reporting. This role includes performing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting the financial close processes.

Location: St. Louis, MO or Rochester Hills, MI

What You'll Be Doing

• Oversee accuracy of financials related to our Winston Collection brand
  • Work closely with Winston and Imperial team members to ensure the accounts payable process is timely, efficient and accurate
• Serve as liaison for vendor and customer inquiries
  • Perform the bank reconciliation throughout the month and address discrepancies as they occur
  • Ensure accuracy of automated customer invoicing
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and supporting schedules
  • Work with the Winston team to ensure credit card expenses are coded accurately
  • Calculate and process commissions & royalties, address related inquiries
  • Track and manage prepaid expenses, including setting up amortization schedules
  • Assist with accruals and other adjusting entries as needed
• Assist with Winton's ERP implementation and ultimately serve as the accounting subject matter expert as it relates to the new ERP
• Prepare and maintain monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in general ledger accounts
• Assist with other accounting duties as needed (reconciliations, reports, data entry) related to the Imperial business
• Design, develop, and maintain financial and operational reports within the ERP system
• Partner with finance and operational teams to identify reporting needs and improve data visibility
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and reporting

What We Need

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience: 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Software Experience/Tools: NetSuite ERP experience, ODOO experience, hands-on experience with complex spreadsheets
• Industry Background: Relevant manufacturing industry experience
• Ideal Characteristics
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office
  • High degree of accuracy and organizational skills
  • Understanding and application of GAAP principles and standard
