Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Tele RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of inpatient cardiac tele experience.

Details

• Cardiac/Med Surg unit with 32 beds
• Patient ratios vary: days 1:5-1:6, nights 1:6-1:8 (estimates, not guarantees)
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Weekend hours required as needed by facility
• No call requirements
• Floats on a rotational basis
• Uses Alaris pumps, telemetry monitoring, and lift equipment
• EMR: EPIC
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire first week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or compact)
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• 4 trauma credits required, or must complete within first two weeks of start
• NIHSS certification required (may start without, but must obtain prior to start)
• ACLS from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Cardiac Tele experience required
• Experience and competence in drug titration required
• Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinates patient care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Maintains professional accountability and evaluates care provided by other direct caregivers
• Role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and assisting with lifting and turning patients
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids; must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and occasionally kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Black scrubs required; torn clothing and open-toed shoes are not permitted
• RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment, with no RTO approved in the first week
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or reassignment outside the radius
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months allowed
• Facility holds Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center designations
