We are seeking an experienced Construction Staff Accountant to join our team and support day-to-day accounting activities across the business. Job Details

What You'll Be Doing
Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger transactions, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and review financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting.
Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies.
Support monthly and year-end financial close processes.
Assist with construction-related accounting, project costs, job costing, purchasing, and billing activities.
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits and tax reporting.
Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related documentation.
Assist with sales and use tax filings and other applicable state and federal reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate financial information within the company's accounting and ERP systems.
Support compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
Partner with operations and other departments to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial controls.
Assist with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed.

What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Construction, contracting, engineering, heavy civil, infrastructure, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, AP/AR, and financial statement preparation.
Familiarity with job costing, project accounting, cost tracking, or construction financial reporting is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience working within accounting or ERP systems.
Experience with construction-focused ERP platforms is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both accounting and operational teams.
