Dean of the College of Nursing

the client invites nominations and applications for the next Dean of the College of Nursing. The Dean serves as the College’s chief academic and administrative officer, providing vision and leadership that supports excellence in research, scholarship, instruction, and outreach. The Dean reports directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and will be responsible for setting strategic direction for the College and sustaining its academic mission. The College of Nursing is a recognized leader in nursing education and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including traditional and advanced degrees and doctoral education. The Dean will oversee an academic community that includes undergraduate and graduate students, full-time faculty, staff, and clinical associates, and will support efforts that advance teaching quality, student learning, research productivity, and community impact. The next Dean must demonstrate strategic leadership in higher education and the skills needed to guide an evolving academic unit. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. or D.N.P. and a graduate degree in nursing, along with academic and professional accomplishments sufficient to merit appointment with tenure at the rank of professor. The role will include maintaining a strong record of student education, evaluating research and scholarship efforts, and furthering the College’s impact in communities within Alabama and beyond.
