High School: Aide Special Education Resource/Inclusion Services 2026-2027

Job Overview The Aide Special Education Resource/Inclusion Services will provide direct support/services to students with disabilities in various educational settings, ensuring access to the curriculum in the student’s least restrictive environment. The incumbent will assist teachers and staff in implementing and documenting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) covering academics, behavior, communication, social and personal care skills, while maintaining a safe and engaging environment for all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Service Delivery Interact with students across settings to ensure safety and engagement (e.g., hallways, classroom, restroom, playground, arrival/departure). Assist in classroom management by maintaining alert supervision of students in all settings. Execute behavioral strategies identified by the teacher from ARD documents (e.g., reinforcements, consequences, contingencies). Implement academic/functional lessons under teacher guidance in various settings (large group, small group, independent practice). Assist students with personal care services (feeding, cleaning, dressing, lifting, positioning, transitioning, toileting, changing) — may account for up to 50% of the workday. Collect data, document, and chart student progress collaboratively with the teacher. Work collaboratively with campus staff who support students with special needs. Attend mandatory professional development sessions. Compliance Record implementation of services and supports on approved logs (inclusive support logs, accommodation logs). Routinely collect data on IEP targets and behavior skills development and mastery with the teacher. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Teacher Support Prepare instructional materials under teacher guidance. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Qualifications Minimum of 48 college credits or passing score on the Para Professional assessment of Knowledge and Skills Test. Texas Educational Aide Certification preferred or required to obtain once hired. De‑Escalation/Restraint Certification preferred or required to obtain once hired (district‑provided training). Proficient in Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The work is performed in classrooms, offices, workstations, and meeting rooms. The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/carrying items weighing less than 40 pounds. Regular use of hands to handle objects, reach with arms, and talk or hear is required. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts; normal safety precautions are necessary. The employee may work prolonged or irregular hours and must maintain emotional control under stress. Additional Information The employee may be required to work outdoors up to 25% of the time, be exposed to inclement weather, lift and position students, and intervene with behaviors including aggression, self‑injurious, disruptive, and self‑stimulatory behaviors. Exposure to bodily fluids and illness is possible. This position is funded by grant funds and may be discontinued if grant funding ends. #J-18808-Ljbffr Fort Bend Independent School District
