Assistant Project Manager

Job Description Insight Global is looking for an Assistant Project manager to support a large engineering firm in New York, NY. This individual will start by supporting the revenue operations and project coordination functions of the business, gaining exposure to how project execution impacts overall company performance and profitability. Initially, responsibilities will include assisting with project schedules, coordinating meetings, documenting meeting minutes, supporting billing and invoicing processes, maintaining project documentation, and helping prepare financial and operational reports. Working closely with Project Managers and engineering teams, this individual will gradually take on additional responsibility, including client-facing interactions, project financial tracking, and ownership of portions of active projects. This position offers a structured growth path into Project Management, allowing candidates to develop both the operational and project delivery skillsets necessary to eventually manage projects independently. Skills and Requirements 1–3 years of experience supporting technical, engineering, consulting, construction, or project‑based environments Bachelor’s degree Project coordination experience, including scheduling, meeting management, documentation, and stakeholder communication Experience tracking project budgets, billing, invoicing, or financial reporting Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in project controls, assistant project management, project accounting, or revenue operations Background in controls, commissioning, energy engineering, construction, or ESCO‑related projects Experience with ERP systems such as Ajera, Deltek Costpoint, or similar project accounting software Power BI experience Knowledge of project accounting concepts, including revenue recognition, project costs, and forecasting Exposure to SharePoint Prior client‑facing experience or experience presenting to customers We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
