In this role, you will work in collaboration with the oncologist to provide high-quality care to patients with cancer, from diagnosis through treatment, survivorship, or palliative care. The ideal candidate will perform comprehensive assessments, manage symptoms, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and provide compassionate counseling to patients and their families.**Key Responsibilities*** **Clinical Care:** Conduct comprehensive medical and psychosocial histories, perform physical examinations, and document findings for oncology patients.* **Treatment Management:** Formulate and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the oncologist, including managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive care.* **Symptom Management:** Diagnose and treat treatment-related toxicities and acute oncology problems (e.g., pain, nausea, fatigue, neutropenia).* **Diagnostics:** Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies (lab work, imaging) to evaluate patient response to treatment.* **Patient Education:** Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.* **Care Continuity:** Act as a patient navigator across settings, including hospital, outpatient clinic, and hospice.* **Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with infusion nurses, pharmacists, navigators, and physicians to ensure seamless care.**Qualifications*** **Education:** Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.* **Licensure:** Active, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in South Carolina.* **Certification:** National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ACNP, FNP, or AGNP) required.* **Experience:** Minimum 1-3 years of experience in oncology/hematology (as an NP or RN) preferred; new graduates with strong oncology RN experience may be considered.* **Skills:** BLS certification required.**Required Skills & Traits*** **Clinical Competence:** Deep knowledge of oncology pharmacology and chemotherapy protocols.* **Communication:** Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex information to patients, families, and team members.* **Compassion & Resilience:** Ability to provide compassionate care and emotional support in a high-acuity environment.* **Critical Thinking:** Ability to make quick, accurate decisions during patient assessments.* Competitive salary.* Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k match).* Continuing Medical Education (CME) days and reimbursement.* Collaborative and supportive team environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Astera Cancer Care
