The Opportunity

A nationally recognised intellectual property practice is seeking a Trademark & Copyright Associate to join its Washington, DC team.

The successful candidate will advise major national and international brands on sophisticated trademark clearance, prosecution, portfolio management and enforcement strategies.

The position offers exposure to complex global brand-management work and the opportunity to manage significant international trademark portfolios for prominent clients.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Conducting and managing high-volume trademark clearance projects.
• Advising on US and international trademark prosecution.
• Developing global trademark filing strategies.
• Supporting international trademark enforcement programmes.
• Managing large multi-jurisdictional trademark portfolios.
• Advising clients on brand protection strategies.
• Coordinating matters with foreign counsel.
• Working directly with major brand clients.
• Assisting with TTAB proceedings where appropriate.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

• At least two years of substantive trademark and brand-management experience.
• Experience conducting high-volume trademark clearance work.
• Experience managing multi-jurisdictional trademark portfolios.
• Experience with domestic and international trademark prosecution.
• Exposure to global filing and enforcement strategies.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent legal writing and critical-thinking skills.
• Exceptional organisation and attention to detail.
• TTAB experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• Active Bar admission in an appropriate US jurisdiction.

Compensation & Benefits

• Expected base salary of $250,000–$340,000 .
