Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities
• Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
• Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill continuing education requirements
• Participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervisor channels

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist licensure in good standing in the state of Virginia
• Minimum of 6 months of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (new graduates will not be considered)
• Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Proficiency in clinical documentation including progress notes, goal writing, and letters of medical necessity
• Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal regulatory guidelines governing physical therapy practice

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
• Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
• Familiarity with functional quality indicator assessments and insurance authorization processes
