Job Title Fire Sprinkler System Designer/Project Manager Job Summary Design fire protection sprinkler systems using the latest versions of 3D/BIM design software for a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Qualifications Minimum 2-4 years of fire sprinkler design experience Hydracad software experience Working knowledge of NFPA codes Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude High school diploma or equivalent. Preferably a graduate of a Tech/Trade School, Community College, or University NICET certification desired although not required Proficiency in MS Office and associated programs Self-motivated individual with good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment Strong organizational skills Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record Candidates must successfully pass a drug test and a complete employment background check Duties And Responsibilities Design and layout of fire protection sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes using NFPA standards and industry practices Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications and contracts. Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features. Perform field check of completed design to verify accuracy. Work closely with the team to understand the contract with the customer, the scheduling of the design process, and the delivery needs of the installation crew. Coordinate deliveries of system materials to the job site to meet the optimum installation start date. Follow all job site safety and protocol when performing field checks and attending on site meetings. Coordination with architects other building trades Material and Equipment Submittals Hydraulic Calculations Seismic Calculations Perform other related duties as required This role is based in our Owings, MD office. The ability to work on-site is a requirement for this position.
