Location & Brand 20 Locations. Healthcare When You Need It Now® Urgent Care Physician – Responsibilities Diagnose and treat a variety of acute illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages. Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, abscess drainage, splinting, and foreign body removal. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays and lab work. Prescribe medications and develop appropriate treatment plans. Collaborate with medical assistants, radiologic technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care. Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Provide patient education on treatment plans, follow-up care, and preventive health measures. Recognize and stabilize patients requiring higher-level care before transferring them to an emergency department. Maintain compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Urgent Care Physician – Qualifications Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. Licensure: Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine. Must have an active and unrestricted medical license in [Insert State]. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred. Experience: Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred. Skills: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; comfortable treating pediatric and adult patients.
