JOB DESCRIPTION

Date posted: February 10, 2026 Position: Reregistered Nurse (RN) Reports to : Director of Health Services Classification: Full time, non-exempt (hourly) Salary Range: $35 hour Location: Redding, California Women's Health Specialists is looking for a reliable, sharp, pro-choice Registered Nurse for our Redding location. Flexible schedule available - open to discussing a 3/4 time, or full time schedule up to 32 hours a week. Day shifts only, no nights or weekends. Duties include providing nursing and medical care to clients seeking reproductive healthcare, being a medical resource to the clinic team, and following established protocols.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide contraceptive education, screen patients and dispense contraceptives under WHS Standardized Procedures. Provide education and screening for STIs. Dispense oral and intra-muscular medications post abortion and contraception. Maintain a working knowledge of the WHS drug medication formulary. Perform venipuncture, injections, start IV's and Hep-Locks, on site lab testing. Monitor, make assessments to release post‑abortion clients. Educate clients regarding post‑operative instructions, contraception and annual health screenings. Ability to perform all requirements for follow up or case management required by insurance programs. Responsible for follow up on lab results: notify client and explain follow up visits per the WHS Standardized Procedures. Proficient in electronic health record keeping (EHR) at WHS.

REQUIREMENTS

Current California state registered nursing license. Current BLS or CPR. Experience in Women's Health desirable. Must agree with the goals and philosophy of Women's Health Specialists.

FILLING THE NEED

WHS is the largest women’s Health provider in a 14 county region of Northern California. Ninety percent of our clients come in for family planning related services. The WHS sees approximately 14,000 clients each year. Eighty percent of our clientele qualify for free or reduced-cost services. WHS provides services on a sliding fee scale and provides health service to all clients regardless of their ability to pay. Thousands of women and their partners receive birth control and gynecological health care that they would not otherwise, because WHS provides services regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Our clientele is racially and culturally representative of Northern California where 68% are White-European; 20% are Hispanic, 5% are African American, 5% Asian/Pacific Islander; and 2% Native American.
