Chemical Technician

Chemical TechnicianOil & Petroleum company in Torrance is looking for a chemical technician to join their team! This is a contract role! Opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced work environment.We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Technician to manage the retention and disposal of materials, both for our organization and our clients, while maintaining accurate records. The role involves receiving, sorting, and ensuring proper storage of samples, handling hazardous materials, and documenting sample information.Responsibilities:Receive, sort, and store samples to ensure they are handled correctly.Handle hazardous materials such as crude oil, refined petroleum products, refined fuels including gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, residual oil, LPG, petrochemicals, industrial gases, and natural gas.Move 20-50 boxes weekly to designated storage units, laboratories, or trucks.Dispose of samples in accordance with company policies.Scan, label, and document sample information accurately.Essential Skills:Experience with sample labeling and data entry.Proficiency in laboratory procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Knowledge of chemistry and material sorting.Additional Skills & Qualifications:At least 6 months of experience in a lab or production environment.High School diploma or equivalent.Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.Proven ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Work Environment:The position operates in a fast-paced environment, processing up to 100 samples daily. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Lab safety attire, including a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves, will be provided. Dress code requires a shirt that covers the stomach, lower back, and upper arms, long pants, and shoes that completely cover the feet.Job Type & Location:This is a contract position based out of Torrance, CA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
