Program Aide

Job Description Part time position available for a Program Aide to assist our Social Work Department. Must speak Arabic and English to be able to translate. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am–1:00 pm. Qualifications High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate. Some experience with the frail elderly and/or developmentally disabled, either paid or volunteer for at least one year. This may include experience with family or friends. Bi‑lingual in Arabic/English a MUST. Caring and patient attitude. Aides shall exhibit a capacity for learning, and ability to comprehend the use of written and spoken English, and have personal qualities conductive to good interpersonal relationships with demonstrative competence in helping others. Must be a team player and step in to cover the duties of other aides when needed. Must maintain clear and timely communication with a multidisciplinary team. Job Responsibilities Assist the Social Work Department with translation, documentation and care coordination. Assist with preparation and distribution of meals and snacks including seating, feeding, monitoring designated special diets, and monitoring food intake. Assist participants to and from vans, buses, taxis and/or family vehicles. Assist the Nursing Department with taking vital signs (blood pressure & pulse). Desired Skills Effective Communication with Participant as well as Team Members. Flexibility : The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, schedules, and preferences is essential for an Activity Coordinator. Problem‑Solving : Ability to think critically and come up with creative solutions is vital. Leadership : You may be responsible for leading teams or supervising volunteers, so strong leadership skills are essential. Scheduling and Coordination : The ability to plan and schedule events, as well as coordinate with multiple team members.
