Production Technician I

Production Technician ILocation: New Carlisle, IN (AMG) - ASUThis position has responsibility for the safe, reliable, efficient operation and maintenance of Airgas Merchant Gas (AMG) production facilities. The Plant Operator is responsible for safety, keeping production equipment in operating condition, maintaining plant production (in collaboration with ROCC), operating efficiency (in collaboration with ROCC) and regulatory and quality compliance.Apply your understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures to protect the team. Work safely and conscientiously in all situations. Identify potential maintenance needs; enter them into the work order maintenance management system (Maximo) to ensure ongoing reliability. Perform all work in alignment with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc. Ideally, you will grow your knowledge and ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment. Bring an interest in instrumentation and mechanical systems. Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures; read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations. Keep accurate records and remain diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures. Apply your knowledge and understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles. Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, and operations PM's. Contribute to and promote high housekeeping and organizational standards. Support additional team needs as requested by Plant Management.
