EP Physician sought for expanding program shaping the future of regional cardiovascular care – Brown Academic Appointment The Brown University Health (BUH) Cardiovascular Institute, part of the faculty practice program for the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, continues to seek exceptional candidates to support its rapidly expanding Electrophysiology program. Regional expansion of the health system and increasing procedural demand in southeastern New England have resulted in vigorous growth across a newly expanded, multi-hospital regional network. With the addition of two hospital systems in Bristol County, Massachusetts, the Brown Health footprint now spans six hospitals, 1,400 beds, and a referral base of 50+ cardiologists . EP procedure volumes have tripled , and we continue to seek EP attendings with the appropriate qualifications and dynamic team-oriented skills to support continued expansion and program development. About the job Strong infrastructure, multidisciplinary collaboration, and leadership investment in continued EP growth The Arrhythmia Service is currently staffed by 5 electrophysiologists of outstanding clinical backgrounds, reflecting diverse training experiences at Yale, NYU, Beth Israel Deaconess, and Mass General Brigham. The female majority faculty is among the most diverse in the country. The Arrhythmia Service covers a 1000 bed state-wide hospital network, centered in Providence, RI The Brown Health Medical Group employs 50+ cardiologists, ensuring a robust in-network referral base. Cardiologists outside of the network also refer into the Arrhythmia Service New clinical leadership embraces a dynamic team-oriented approach to managing the service. Collegiality is encouraged and expected in delivering the highest possible quality of care. The Arrhythmia Service is consultative only. There are no general cardiology service obligations, and inpatients are admitted to the cardiology service. EP consult service call will be 1:6 weeks with robust support from some of the best fellows in the country at night. After hours visits to the hospital are rare for the attending electrophysiologists. A cadre of advanced practice providers, device technicians, clinical nurses, and pharmacists support the service, with committed resources to develop a robust team-based model to arrhythmia management in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Three of our APPs have been competitively selected to participate in the Leadership and Education for Allied Professionals (LEAP) program at HRS. Lab time is divided equally among physicians 90% of the successful candidate’s time will be clinical, with up to 10% devoted to teaching or research, depending upon interest and level of achievement. The institute boasts a robust mentoring program for academic physicians.
