Psychiatry Opportunity At Samaritan Hospital

St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking a full-time, compassionate, and highly skilled adult Psychiatrist to join our inpatient behavioral health team at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a mission-driven, physician-friendly environment with strong interdisciplinary support, advanced resources, and a stable, predictable inpatient program serving a diverse adult psychiatric population.

Job Description: The provider will:

  • Provide inpatient psychiatric care on a 30-bed adult mental health unit shared between 2 psychiatrists
  • Manage patients across three specialized units: Mental Health, MICA (Mentally Ill Chemically Addicted), and Gero-Psychiatry
  • Collaborate closely with hospitalists, specialists, and community-based providers
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team including counselors, therapists, case managers, nurse practitioners, and fellow psychiatrists
  • Treat a diverse adult psychiatric population
  • Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care addressing medical, psychiatric, and social needs
  • Participate in the call rotation (1:6 weekends)

Not accepting Locums candidates. Not open to Visa Candidates. Candidates must be truly Board Eligible or Board Certified. Candidates with lapsed Board Certification will not be accepted.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary of $318,449 $354,957/year, commensurate with experience
  • $25,000 starting bonus
  • $30,000 retention bonus
  • Potential to earn more through productivity incentives and quality-based bonuses
