For full salary package, click here: Total Rewards CalculatorClosing Date: Open Until FilledStatus: Full-Time with State Benefit Package Recruitment: Internal/ExternalLocation: Medicaid Fraud Control Unit Office, Bismarck, NDSelecting Supervisor: Jessica Binder, Director, Medicaid Fraud Control UnitSummary of Work The mission of the North Dakota Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) is to combat fraud, waste, and abuse of the Medicaid program. The MFCU team investigates and prosecutes Medicaid providers who defraud the ND Medicaid Program and who abuse, neglect, or financially exploit patients in any facility that accepts Medicaid funds. MFCU also can pursue civil remedies. The MFCU team consists of attorneys, Special Agents with the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations, auditors, and support staff. This is an in-person position located in Bismarck, ND. The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) serving in this position will consult with MFCU team members, review investigation and audit reports, analyze evidence and cases, prepare and file civil and criminal actions in the appropriate court, conduct discovery and legal research, draft and respond to court filings and correspondence, attend hearings, negotiate settlements, and take matters to trial, as needed. An AAG must have sound legal judgment, strong research and analysis skills, and the ability to understand and relay complex information and legal issues. An AAG must maintain the integrity and confidentiality of investigations and legal proceedings, as well as maintain the decorum, professionalism, and integrity of the North Dakota Office of Attorney General. MFCU has statewide jurisdiction, so in-state, overnight travel is expected. Out-of-state training is also anticipated. Experience with civil and criminal litigation is preferred. Experience with Medicaid is not required. In addition to the monthly salary, this position includes annual and sick leave, fully paid health insurance (single or family), and participation in the state NDPERS defined contribution retirement plan. This position also offers the options to participate in employee-paid dental and vision insurance (single or family), to participate in the 457 deferred compensation plan, and to contribute to a medical spending account.
